I agree! The revolution is much sturdier. It also has a platform that will hold the dies magnetically. I will only use my Epic under duress when I have a very large die that will not fit in the Rev.
ReplyDeletehmmm, I never had a revolution 'cuz I thought that they weren't made very well. I have an Epic and I use repositionable adhesive to keep my dies in place...
ReplyDeleteHi Stacie!
ReplyDeleteActually, the Revolution has been the most well-received tool we've ever released. It's very sturdy and reliable and has a magnetic platform that makes cutting out shapes easier. Obviously, we think both tools are great but we re-released the Revolution because of the success it has been. We've gotten wonderful feedback from our consumers and wanted to give more people the opportunity to own it!
Love my revolution!! I never did purchase an Epic because I heard of issues with them and my revolution worked great. I just don't look at the 6" dies, and it isn't a problem!
ReplyDeleteI agreee. I have both the Revolution and the Epic and very seldom use the EPIC - only for long dies so I don't have the change the Revolution base plates. The Revolution is HANDS down a better product then the Epic.
ReplyDeleteI love, love, love the revolution. The Epic never came to live with me, because of the well documented problems, I just stuck with another brand of 6 inch wide machine. I am waiting for a 8-12 inch version so I can buy some of those new 8 inch dies I so am in love with. QK help me out here and make a bigger machine and dies. Oh and make sure it is just a bigger size Revolution not that Epic thing your predicessor thought was a good idea. Thank you
ReplyDeleteI LOVE my Revolution and hope that I can now get supplies for it now that it's being rereleased.
ReplyDeleteLove my Revolution and think it would be AMAZING if you remade it with a 6" wide cutting platform!!! Please!!! There are have been so many complaints about the Epic that I won't buy it. I am thinking of switching to a Big Shot so I can cut bigger dies. :(
ReplyDeleteI'm a big QK fan and was really disappointed with the Epic. The revolution is a great machine. It would be even better if it was motorized though!
ReplyDeleteI love my Revolution too. Considering buying a back-up actually. THough wondering if you will ever come out with a motorized machine.
ReplyDeleteI thought they did come up with a motorized machine a few years ago...the LOVE or something? I can't remember...it must not have gone over too well though...I never really heard about it again...
ReplyDeleteI have the Revolution and Epic, and I love them both. I never had an issue w/ my Epic, but do miss having the magnetic base. Thanks Lifestyle Crafts, you clearly heard what your customers were asking for and I look forward to more in teh future!
ReplyDeleteSUPER decision - I LOOOOVE my Revolution !! I never bought the EPIC because my daughter has another machine (no need for namedropping here =0) ) and it could take the larger dies. I am the unofficial Queen of QK in Denmark and has used my Revolution for more than 4½ years without ANY problems whatsoever. Still hang on to my Squeeze - but that's because it is faster when I need letters from the 2x2 dies I have. Especially if I need the same letter a lot of times - click click click - is a bit faster then rolling. But anyone not sure about it - I can vote for the Revolution - and NO I am not in any way related to the company - just a very satisfied customer since WAY BACK.. =0) Looking forward to see the new homepage - used to be my daily fix to go the QK and look for new ideas. Best wishes CharlieDK
ReplyDeleteI agree with many of you. I have both the Rev & the Epic. I don't like using the Epic because it doesn't have a magnetic platform and the machine slides around so much. I use my Rev with the 12" platform all of the time. I only use my Epic for the larger dies and for embossing (I get terrible embossing results with the Rev). I love my Rev, just wish you could use the larger dies in it.
ReplyDeleteI had a couple of different die cutting machines before I got my revolution including the squeeze and my favourite one has to be the revolution. I really love it, I've got the 12" matt so I can cut the long dies and with that I can cut 95% of the dies I want.
ReplyDeleteFar and away the best die cutter I've ever owned
I think it's great you are bringing it back, I think the Rev is far superior to the Epic. No one I know has ever been happy with their Epic, including me. Make a bigger Rev and I will buy that too!
ReplyDeleteI, too love my Rev! I had to send it off to repair a gear, and it too so long!! But its back and I've put it to work again. I would love to purchase the longer plate for it, but don't know where to buy...
ReplyDeleteI also LOVE my Revolution but a sticking point for me is the small width of the magnetic bed. Although I have the long platform too, I hate cutting down the paper. I am hoping Lifestyle Crafts makes a product equal to Spellbinders Grand Calibur. It takes paper 8 1/2" wide plus embosses and cuts. I LOVE QK/Lifestyle crafts and am holding out until they give us a cutting machine that is made as well as the Revolution but has the dimensions of the Grand Calibur.
ReplyDeleteI just threw away my second revolution because I sripped the gears on two of them and was told that they were no longer available!! I loved that machine so much. I did find one online but retuned it and bought the grand calibur. I miss the magnetic platform!! Please make a wider platform machine and I will buy it. I have the epic and hate it!!
ReplyDeleteI am so glad the Revolution is comming back. Will you also offer the 12in metal platform too?

After reading all of the comments, I think I may have to try this tool. I like the idea of the magnetic platform. I'm wondering if the consumers would be happy if the Epic had a magnetic platform. It seems to be what everyone is commenting most about. How about revising the platforms of the Epic to include a magnetic top? I wonder if that would make everyone happy.
ReplyDeleteIt's a cute little thing.
My Revolution has been the workhorse in my scrapbook room for 3 years. I absolutely love it. When it was sold it had a lifetime warranty. Will you be standing behind that now??? Will you cary parts again in case I have to send mine in for repair?? I agree with the others who would love to see an 8 1/2" magnetic platform on a Revolution. That would be awsome! Please consider it!
ReplyDeleteI purchased the Epic because I was assured that it would do everything the Revolution did and more and that it was also magnetic. Well it was not magnetic and it is cumbersome. I wish I had never bought it. I have it in its original box and have never even used it. I was so disappointed I just put it away. I have all kinds of machines and this is the first one I have had a problem with. If I had my druthers I would return it in exchange for the Revolution. Any chance of that happening?
ReplyDeleteI've tried and had them all. I bought one of the first squeeze tools with the Marissa alphabet way back when. I still have it and use it. Bought the Revolution and love it. Bought the Epic before it was released and hated it as soon as it arrived. Got rid of it. I have several of your competitions machines (you can never have too many, right) but the Revolution is the one I keep coming back to. I'll echo everyone else and put my 2 cents in with a request for a larger version but please don't make it a cheap version.
ReplyDeleteI haven't used any of my dies for at least I year. They are just sitting here collecting dust and everytime I look at them I could kick myself for getting rid of my Revolution when I got my first Epic. So I am looking forward to the Revolution coming to a store near me. I will be first in line just so I can use my dies again. I will think good thoughts that the dies will cut all the way through.
ReplyDeleteI am thrilled to hear the rev is coming back. Smart move! The epic is a disappointment. I would also love to see a wider version of the revolution made as well as the original revolution. I purchased a competitor machine because of the epic and wanted to use wider dies.
ReplyDeleteAre you going to release the 12" platform also?
ReplyDeleteI love my Revolution. I never bought an Epic...I bought a different brand because I could no longer get a 12" platform. I have a disability that affects my hands and the Revolution has made my scrapbooking addiction easier.
ReplyDeleteI love my revolution. I am hoping they will release the 12 inch platform again also. It is one of favorites. I have several die cutting machines. I also have the hand held and still use it also. I also have the epic. I love it for embossing and the bigger dies. Love QK.
ReplyDeleteI have a Revolution - bought it on sale just before they discontinued it. Worked great. Got an Epic 6 because by the time I got my Revolution, no one seemed to have the 12-inch platform. Epic 6 has been a pain from the word go. I must admit that Lifestyle Crafts went "above and beyond" so that I now have a usable Epic 6, but with the Revolution coming back, if I can get a 12-inch platform for it, I WILL and like someone else said, I will only use the Epic 6 when I need if for something that won't fit on the Revolution.
ReplyDeleteI am so excited to hear about this re-release! Revolution is my favorite and best tool in my scraproom. In fact I have two set up at all times: one with the smaller platform and one with the 12" platform.
ReplyDeleteI also own and Epic which I NEVER use. IT took 6 months to get it and then had to be replaced and I still can't figure out which of the multiple sets of mats/covers I am supposed to use - well I know I don't want to use the ones that curl up.
I don't care about having an electric one Revolution or about a wider platform especially - not that I would reject either. : )
One thing I would like though is a sturdier carrying case. My second case fell apart the other day as I was heading to a crop. I have had trouble with them from the beginning but keep putting them back together.
Thanks for all of your comments! To answer the question about the 12 inch platform, YES we will be producing and selling it. We will continue to support the parts needed for the Revolution.
ReplyDeleteWhat is the exact date for re-release? Last weeks post said next week and it is already "next week". Thanks
